The young street dog had her puppies a couple of days ago. She stopped coming for food at the beginning of week, turning up yesterday afternoon, no longer pregnant and very hungry.
Once she had finished eating we followed down the lane to where she had made a den. Although she had made a good den it wasnt good enough for the bad storms we are having. We collect the 7 puppies and brought them back to house where they are safer. Mother followed us up the road to join them.
Although she has been coming for food and sleeping at the house, she wouldn’t let us get too close. Hopefully by the time the babies are no longer having milk, she will trust us enough that we can get her to the Vet’s to be spayed.
